Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2023

What a great turn out for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony! Despite the heavy rain the event still went ahead in the City Hall and St Davids is now lit up beautifully. Thank you to all those who took part – Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi, Cathedral choristers, Simon Pearce, Dean – Very Revd Dr Sarah Rowland Jones, Sub Dean – Canon Leigh Richardson, Pachg Wiliam Owen, St Davids Handbell ringers and St Davids Penknife Club.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the children of St Davids were particularity pleased to see Father Christmas, the elves and some unexpected snow on the night

A big thank to David Murphy for collecting the lovely tree from Newbridge Nursery and to Malcolm Gray, Tony Pearce, Connor Morgan, John James, Rick Pike, Phil Giles, Chris Dooran, David Menday, Simon Robinson, Jack Rees, Richard Thornton, Frank John and Nick Price for helping to install it in preparation for the event.

A further thank you to the Christmas Tree Association for all their hard work and for their kind donation towards the cost of the tree.

Lastly, thank you to our contractors from ETTS who worked hard to decorate the streets in time for the switch on.

A big community effort and St Davids is looking lovely.
